Re: The bizarre

I need a translation of "galloping gourmet" LT is that a praise or a punch?

Oh my, Kofte!  I've got nothing but praise for you, your delightful travel experiences and your apparent culinary skills.  Every time I read your posts, I think you should start a travel and cuisine magazine or an adventure mag of some sort.  You're so expressive.  The Galloping Gourmet was a cooking television show from when I was a kid.  The reference was only because he was a male chef which is why I used it.  If I get an invite for kabobs, I'll bring my husband so you won't get in trouble -- deal?  Or if they're really good kabobs, I'll leave him for you.  I simply cannot resist a man who makes a wicked kabob!  Okay, everyone that's a joke -- settle down.

Bamboo's ragu
TallPositiveLady biscuits and gravy
Snap peas
ThatTallOne Chow Fun
Jumbo's gumbo (I don't know if we have a "Jumbo" but it sounds good)
Less02 beef stew

Man!  I'm gettin' hungry!

Re: The bizarre

I wasn't sure where to put this post but I think here will do.

I was at the local Relay for Life event this evening. I walked the survivor's lap, ate some food with my wife and sons, visited with some other cancer survivors, remembered a couple who have gone on. It was a good time for a good cause.

One funny thing happened. We survivors were standing on the track waiting for the start and the six pm sun was full on us. It was about ninety degrees and very humid. People were chatting with one another and I stood there trying to shield the sun from my face with the program I was holding. I overheard a couple of women just behind me talking about their experience with cancer when one of them said, "lets move behind that tall guy." I glanced over my left shoulder to see a thirty something woman about five foot something standing as close behind me as she could get. I asked, "Are you standing in my shade?"  She just giggled and said yes. I told her to go ahead and enjoy it since I couldn't use it myself.  lol Someone said they wished I was a little wider so they could get back there too!

You talking about the shade or the aroma?  lol

Well, we do what we can do. The only thing is, I felt obliged to stand still so I didn't let the sun get on my new neighbor. Just one more responsibility to take on.  <_<

Re: The bizarre

This is more funny than bizarre but here goes:

I was recently at a motel.  Although the sun was setting and it was getting cold , I couldn't resist going into the pool.  I was treading water out in the deep end mind blank when a woman swims up behind me and said,  " Hey you must be an eskimo too"  She was refering to being nuts enough for us to be swimming when its so cold. smile

We chatted a bit and her friend called for her and I decided I was frozen enough so we swam over to the pools edge and pulled ourselves out. We kept chatting and I stopped cold in the middle of my sentence...my jaw dropped I'm afraid to say-she was about 6'5"or more  and her height it took me by such surprise I was speechless. The element of total surprise. She laughed and said, " I love seeing someone go in shock like you did." B)

I apologized and she laughed and said she sorta set me up  just to see how I would react to her.

She said as she walked away, "Be careful who to talk to in swimming pools." wink  lol

Re: The bizarre

I have a comment for the BIZARRE topic:

I went to a training in Nashville, TN last week at a large and very nice hotel.  I found it bizarre that there were confederate flags flying from balconies everywhere and then when I checked in I discovered that the "Sons of Cofederate Veterans" were having a week-long convention there.   I've never seen such a bizarre group of individuals in one place -- ladies in antebellum dresses, old men in confederate uniforms with swords, confederate bikers, skinheads and then there were just plain wierd looking people that looked somewhat like O2's avitar!!

One of my friends got called a "yankee bitch" when she complained about the noise on our floor at midnight!   Don't get me wrong, I have lots of family in Tennessee -- it was just a bizarre group of folks that you would have had to see to believe. One person there actually destroyed his car when he parked it too close to the raised sidewalk in the parking lot --actually peeled back the front half of the car so far that it punctured both front tires! Guess he had to walk home after the convention.  That's one group I will NOT be joining.

BTW, I didn't see ANY tall folks there...hmmm?

What a remarkable coincidence! My wife has been in Nashville since this past Wednesday. The similarities are mounting... <_<

As far as you know.

She just offered to lie for me.

Or was that a lie?

I remember when I worked the midnight shift at the hospital, we used to give ourselves margaritas by IV, and then played with the x-ray machines.

So people make photocopies of their butts with a Xerox, what do you do with an x-ray?
